How we price website QA work

We price testing by the days it takes, at a day rate of €520, plus VAT where applicable. Every engagement gets a written quote that lists the scope, the testing days and any retest rounds, and the price is fixed before you pay any deposit. The figures below are starting points that the quote confirms.

This page explains how we turn a brief into a price. If you want to understand what drives testing costs in general, including published figures from another Irish provider, read our guide to what website QA costs in Ireland. This page is about our own prices and terms.

The day rate

Our day rate is €520, plus VAT where applicable; the VAT treatment is stated on each quote. A day means a working day of testing, planning or reporting by one person. Half days are available for small jobs, at half the rate. Every quote states the number of days, so you can see how the total was reached.

Prices on this page are plus VAT where applicable; the VAT treatment is stated on each quote.

Starting points

These are starting points for five example engagements. They describe the shape of the work, not a promise for every site. Your quote may be higher or lower once we have seen the scope.

Starting points, before VAT
EngagementShape of the workStarting point
Pre-launch QA review, small siteUp to about ten templates and two forms; four desktop browsers and two phones; all strands; retesting as quotedFrom €1,560 (three days)
Pre-launch QA review, larger site or small shopMore templates and flows, such as accounts, bookings or a checkout; retesting as quotedFrom €2,600 (five days)
Single strand, such as security configuration or search metadata checksOne strand on a small site, with report; retesting as quotedFrom €520 (one day)
Functional testing of one flowTest cases, testing and report for one flow, such as a booking form; retesting as quotedFrom €780 (one and a half days)
Regression round after updatesAgreed regression set run after a CMS, theme or plugin updateFrom €260 (half a day)

The starting points cover planning, testing and the report. How many retest rounds a job includes is written into its quote, and a scope change is agreed in writing before any further work.

How a quote is put together

  1. Your brief You tell us what is launching or changing, when, and which flows matter most. A short email is enough to start.
  2. Our questions We may ask for a link to the staging site, your analytics overview, or a list of forms and integrations. The first reply is free, carries no obligation, and says whether and how we could help; any questions we need answered come with it.
  3. Written scope We set out the pages, flows, browsers, devices, strands of testing and dates in writing, along with what is out of scope.
  4. Fixed quote The quote lists the days for each part of the work and the total. It stays fixed for the scope described.
  5. Deposit You accept the quote and pay a deposit of 30 percent. Testing dates are confirmed once the deposit arrives.
  6. Testing We test and report, then retest fixes for as many rounds as the quote lists.
  7. Balance The balance is invoiced when the final report is delivered.

When the scope changes

Scope changes are normal: a launch date moves, a new feature arrives, a template is redesigned halfway through testing. When that happens, we write down the change and its effect on the days and the price, and nothing extra is charged unless you agree to the change in writing first. If the change makes the work smaller, the price comes down the same way.

What is not included

  • Fixing defects. Your developer or agency fixes what we find. We do not charge for fixing because we do not do it.
  • Paid tools on your behalf. If your project needs a specific paid service, such as a device cloud subscription in your name, we will say so in the quote and you decide.
  • Travel. Testing is done remotely. If you would like an in-person session, we quote the travel separately.
  • Penetration testing, accessibility conformance audits, load testing and app testing. These are specialist services we do not offer.

Rescheduling and cancellation

If you need to move testing dates, tell us as early as you can. We move dates where our calendar allows. If you cancel before testing starts, we refund the deposit, less any planning time already spent, charged at the day rate. If testing has started, we invoice the days already worked. If you are a consumer rather than a business, your statutory cancellation rights are unaffected. These terms are repeated in every quote.

Payment

Invoices are issued in euro and payable by bank transfer within 14 days. We do not take card payments through this website and never ask for card details by email.

Examples of how prices come together

Illustrative quotes

A five-page brochure site with one contact form, checked on four desktop browsers plus two phones, including the accessibility, security and metadata strands: planning half a day, testing one and a half days, reporting and the quoted retest one day. Three days, €1,560 before VAT.

A small shop with accounts and two delivery methods, same browsers and devices, all strands: planning one day, testing two and a half days, reporting one day, quoted retest half a day. Five days, €2,600 before VAT.

A regression round after a plugin update on a site we have tested before, using the existing test cases: half a day, €260 before VAT.

These examples are illustrations of how days add up, not offers for any particular site.

Why we publish prices

Publishing a day rate and starting points lets you judge whether outside testing fits your budget before you write to us. It also makes our quotes easy to check: days multiplied by the rate, plus VAT where it applies. If a quote from us does not add up that way, ask us why.

Getting a quote

Send a brief with your launch date, a link to the site or staging site if you have one, and the flows that matter most. If you are not sure what to include, the QA process page describes the information that helps us scope the work.

Want a quote for your own scope?

Send the pages, flows and launch date. Our first email back is free, carries no obligation, and tells you whether we are a good fit.
